Hojicha green tea is a special variety of the many types of Japanese teas available today.  It’s made by roasting tea in a porcelain pot over charcoal.  This not only causes the leaves to change from green to brown bu also adds a caramel tint to the flavor, similar to that of fire roasted vegetables.  Due to the roasting, this tea contains less L-Theanine than other green teas.  However, the roasting process also kills off the caffeine content as well which makes it a suitable drink for mitigating your anxiety in the evening.
