Sweet and Relaxing Decaffinated Sencha Green Tea
Why Sencha Green Tea?
You’ve been working hard for many hours and it’s time for a break! What better way to spend that break than sipping a cup of sweet Sencha Green Tea? Sencha is rich in antioxidants, particularly catechin which is responsible for its bitter but pleasant signature taste. Like most green teas, Sencha contains L-Theanine which naturally and safely induces a meditative state without drowsiness in most people. But unlike most green teas, this variety from Bello Tea is decaffeinated which is a plus if you’re prone to Anxiety.
Sencha vs Matcha
Sencha green tea is the style of Japanese tea which is made by brewing the processed tea leaves in hot water. Unlike Matcha, the tea leaves are not dissolved in the tea itself. As a result, Matcha contains more caffeine and L-Theanine per cup when typically prepared. Matcha also tends to be more of a luxury tea since it has higher production costs due to the need for shade while growing and the extra of grinding the leaves into a fine powder. It’s no wonder Matcha tends to be reserved for special events like tea ceremonies while Sencha is more of an everyday tea. Here’s a cool infographic on the details of the difference between Sencha and Matcha.
